It’s unclear whether any devices were compromised or communications intercepted.
The U.S. government has identified China’s involvement in breaches affecting AT&T, Verizon, and Lumen Technologies. Verizon confirmed the sophisticated targeting of U.S. telecommunications, while Lumen declined to comment.
China’s embassy denied any interference, stating it does not intend to influence U.S. elections. The investigation continues, with federal agencies providing technical support to mitigate the impact.
