Donald Trump’s campaign has accused the UK’s Labour Party of interfering in the U.S. presidential election, filing a complaint with the Federal Election Commission. The complaint comes after reports revealed nearly 100 Labour volunteers were sent to assist Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign.
The complaint points to a now-deleted LinkedIn post from a Labour official detailing the volunteer efforts. Trump’s team called for an investigation into what they described as “illegal foreign contributions.” Labour Party leader Keir Starmer downplayed the accusation, stating the volunteers were acting independently in their free time.
Despite this, Starmer, who met Trump in September, does not expect the issue to strain relations, should Trump win the election on Nov. 5.
