MSW Consultants, an Orlando-based company, has been awarded a $57,700 contract to conduct a waste characterization study at the Ontario County Landfill.
The company was the sole bidder for the project, which involves analyzing the types of solid waste arriving at the landfill in Seneca, including organics, non-organics, and recyclable materials.
The study aims to help county officials plan for the landfill’s future, especially as its permit and operational lease with Casella Waste Services are set to expire in 2028. The county’s Board of Supervisors will vote on the contract at their next meeting.
