Seneca County delays hearing on waste management plan, extends public comment period

A public hearing on the Draft Seneca County Local Solid Waste Management Plan (LSWMP) has been rescheduled to accommodate a larger audience and allow more time for public input, county officials announced Monday. The hearing, originally set for October, will now take place during the next Board of Supervisors meeting on November 12 at 1 DiPronio Drive in Waterloo.

Michael Enslow, chairman of the Seneca County Board of Supervisors, confirmed the change in a statement, emphasizing the need for adequate facilities to ensure the public has the opportunity to engage fully with the draft plan.

The public comment period for the LSWMP has also been extended, giving residents until November 15 to submit their feedback. Comments can be sent to Jill Henry, the director of Seneca County Planning and Community Development, either by mail or via email at SCLSWMP@co.seneca.ny.us.
