Discount retailer Big Lots is shutting down its stores in Canandaigua and Ithaca, adding them to a growing list of New York locations closing as part of a nationwide downsizing. The company is offering discounts between 20% and 60% at these stores before they close their doors.
The Ohio-based chain has now marked 12 of its 64 New York stores for closure, including recent additions in Binghamton and Troy. These actions follow a sale agreement with an affiliate of Nexus Capital Management LP and earlier announcements to reduce their retail footprint.
The Canandaigua store at 4406 State Route 5 & 20 Suite 129 and the Ithaca location at 2309 N Triphammer Road are among those affected. Customers can take advantage of clearance sales as Big Lots continues to adjust its operations amidst changing market conditions.
