A student from the Palmyra-Macedon Central School District was arrested Thursday after allegedly posting a school shooting threat on social media. Authorities were alerted when a handwritten note claiming an attack was planned began circulating online. School officials promptly notified the School Resource Officer and the Director of School Safety.
Following an investigation, police arrested a juvenile, who now faces felony charges of making a terroristic threat. The case will proceed through Family Court due to the student’s age.
Palmyra Police assured the public that no students were in immediate danger and the threats appeared to lack credibility.
