The Finger Lakes Boating Museum in Hammondsport is offering two boater safety courses this fall to help boaters obtain their safety certification before the 2025 deadline. The courses will take place on Sunday, September 22, and Saturday, November 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the museum, located at 8231 Pleasant Valley Road.
Participants will be instructed by a certified New York State instructor and can earn a lifetime boater safety certificate. The certification will be required for all motorized boat operators in New York State by 2025.
To attend, pre-registration is required through the NYS Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation or the boating museum. The course costs $30 for members and $35 for non-members.
