New York has been ranked fifth in the nation for having the least road rage, according to a recent study by H&P Law, a Las Vegas-based personal injury law firm.
The study analyzed data from all 50 states, focusing on six key factors, including firearm incidents, aggressive driving accidents, and speeding violations. New York earned a final score of 43.5, placing it among the calmest states for drivers. Rhode Island topped the list with a score of 40.
The study revealed that aggressive or careless driving is a factor in 37.4% of accidents in New York, and the state reports only 0.7 firearm-related road rage incidents per 100,000 residents—one of the lowest rates in the country.
Louisiana ranked as the state with the most road rage, with a score of 90, followed by New Mexico and Montana. The findings underscore the importance of maintaining calm and vigilance on the road to ensure safety for all drivers.
