The Finger Lakes Performing Provider System (FLPPS) Workforce Investment Organization has been selected to manage the Career Pathways Training (CPT) Program across 18 counties in New York’s Finger Lakes, Western NY, and Southern Tier regions. Governor Kathy Hochul announced the selection as part of the New York Health Equity Reform (NYHER) 1115 Waiver initiative.
The CPT Program aims to address healthcare workforce shortages by providing education and career advancement opportunities, particularly in allied health roles. Participants will commit to three years of service with Medicaid providers after completing their training.
FLPPS CEO Carol Tegas emphasized the program’s role in building a resilient, diverse healthcare workforce through enhanced training and partnerships across the region.
This initiative will play a crucial role in closing workforce gaps and ensuring equitable healthcare access throughout New York.
