Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama have officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for her 2024 presidential run. This crucial endorsement, announced Friday, follows President Joe Biden’s decision to end his reelection campaign.
In a video released Friday, the Obamas are seen calling Harris to express their support. “Michelle and I couldn’t be prouder to endorse you,” said Barack Obama. Michelle Obama added, “I am proud of you, Kamala. This is going to be historic.”
Harris, aiming to become the first woman, first Black woman, and first person of Asian descent to serve as president, has already secured the majority of delegates to the Democratic National Convention. With the Obamas’ backing, her campaign gains significant momentum leading up to Election Day on November 5.
