The SouthWorks project aims to transform an 850,000 square-foot former industrial site on South Hill into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood.
The developers are seeking a 20-year Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) agreement from the Tompkins County Industrial Development Agency (IDA).
The project, expected to open in 2025, will feature residential, retail, and recreational spaces. The developers have requested a phased-in tax increase over 20 years, generating an estimated $44 million in new tax revenue.
