Vice President Kamala Harris, now the leading Democratic candidate for president, vowed to take on Republican nominee Donald Trump with the same determination she used as a prosecutor. Speaking in Wilmington, Delaware, Harris emphasized her experience in fighting predators and fraudsters.
Harris quickly gained support following President Joe Biden’s decision to exit the race. She raised $81 million in 24 hours and secured endorsements from top Democrats, including former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the AFL-CIO labor union.
In her speech, Harris highlighted her plans to protect abortion rights, ban assault rifles, and rebuild the middle class. She promised to bring her prosecutorial skills to the campaign, declaring, “I know Donald Trump’s type.”
