Seneca Meadows to host moth blacklighting event with spaghetti dinner to follow

Join the Seneca Meadows Education Center on July 26, 2024, for an evening of learning about moths, using the iNaturalist app, and enjoying a spaghetti dinner. The event will be held from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM, with a rain date from the original June 7 event.

Molly Jacobson, a pollinator ecologist at SUNY ESF, will lead the session on moths, their importance, and how to document sightings using iNaturalist. The evening will include a UV “blacklighting” activity to attract and observe various moth species.

The event is free and open to all ages. It will take place at the Seneca Meadows Education Center, 1977 NYS Route 414, Waterloo, NY. Registration is required by July 22, 2024, to ensure enough food is available. Register at the provided link or contact 315-539-5089 for more information.
