The Yates County Legislature approved hiring a new assistant planner during a brief special meeting on Tuesday.
County Planner Jeff Ayers will fill the position, which becomes vacant in August due to a resignation.
The new position’s annual cost is estimated between $59,152 and $86,281, depending on health insurance and other benefits.
The resolution passed without any debate or opposition.
