The Buffalo Sabres announced Friday that they have brought back defenseman Kale Clague on a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000.

Clague, 26, spent most of his time with the Rochester Americans last season, where he appeared in 42 games, tallying 23 points on three goals and 20 assists. His 20 assists ranked second among all Amerks defensemen.

He also played in three games with the Sabres due to an injury, recording one assist and two shots while averaging 12:16 of ice time.
