Vines and Barrels Wine and Liquor Warehouse will close permanently on July 3, announced owner Mike Sweet, who founded the business on State Route 54 in 2016.
Sweet is joining Empire Merchants, New York’s second-largest alcohol distributor, and cannot hold two state liquor licenses. The 5,300-square-foot building, listed for $595,000, has garnered interest from potential buyers.
Sweet, also the mayor of Bath, expressed mixed emotions about the closure but is excited about his new job. A liquidation sale is underway, offering 40% off purchases on Thursday and 50% off on Saturday. The final day will be marked by a celebration with drinks and snacks from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
