The Genesee Country Village & Museum will hold its annual Independence Day Celebration on July 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event features a 19th-century-style parade, live music, historic games, and a pie-eating contest. Thanks to Monroe County, children 12 and under get free admission. Tickets are available online at GCV&M Events.
Visitors can enjoy music, food, and various activities, including a Naturalization Ceremony at 11 a.m. on the Village Square, where new citizens will be sworn in. There will also be a voting exercise for naming a new queen bee and selecting a new treat for Kids Free Days in August.
The museum’s Historic Village will be open, with costumed educators demonstrating traditional trades and recipes. Admission prices are $23 for adults, $20 for seniors and students, and free for children 12 and under. For more details, visit GCV&M.
