Geneva police announced the arrest of a city resident following an investigation on Exchange Street Thursday.
David Brinson, 61, was arrested for robbery, strangulation, criminal mischief, and grand larceny after an incident.
According to police, Brinson choked the victim causing injury, then forcibly stole her purse, which had credit cards inside. Through the ordeal, he also stole the victim’s phone, preventing her from calling 911.
The charges will be answered at a later date.
