Campbell man arrested for threatening police with firearm

Steuben County deputies arrested Raymond M. Burns, 32, of Campbell, after he allegedly fired rifle shots and threatened police on June 5.


Deputies responded to reports of gunfire and shouting on Savona-Campbell Road. Burns allegedly fired several shots outside his home and threatened to retrieve another firearm to use against the officers. He was taken into custody before he could enter his residence.

Burns was charged with menacing a police officer, a class D felony, and reckless endangerment in the second degree. He was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
