The Ithaca City School District (ICSD) announced that Superintendent Dr. Luvelle Brown will not seek an extension or amendment to his current contract, which runs until June 30, 2028. This news comes after Dr. Brown’s unexpected decision in January 2021 to rescind his resignation for a corporate job.
The Board of Education has scheduled an HR Work Session meeting for Tuesday at 5 p.m., which will be conducted in executive session without other agenda items.
In related news, the Board approved a resolution on Monday evening for a budget re-vote after the initial proposed ICSD 2024-2025 budget failed last month. The re-vote is set for June 18, with a public hearing on June 11 at 5:30 p.m. at York Hall on the Ithaca High School campus.
