The New York Yankees keep getting recognized for their scorching start to the season.
On the same day that Aaron Judge and Luis Gil were given monthly honors for their contributions in May, it was announced that outfielder Juan Soto has been named the American League Player of the Week.
Soto hit .435 with three home runs, four walks, and nine RBI last week, including a two-homer game that helped the Yankees complete a three-game sweep of the San Francisco Giants.
This is Soto’s second Player of the Week Award this season and the fifth of his career.
