  • Staff Report

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Nathaniel S. Colfer, 48, of Williamson, for violating a court-issued order of protection.

Deputies stopped a vehicle on Lake Avenue in Williamson at 6:49 a.m. on Thursday, after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign. During the traffic stop, it was discovered that Colfer, a passenger in the vehicle, had a full stay-away order of protection against him, protecting the driver. The order was issued by the Williamson Town Court.

Colfer was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and taken to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in Williamson Town Court at a later date.
