Visit LivCo, Livingston County’s tourism promotion agency, is launching a new visitor information center called LivCo Basecamp at 4 O’Connell Avenue. The community is invited to an open house on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the grand opening celebration set for Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
LivCo Basecamp aims to provide visitors and locals with information on the region, including maps, attractions, accommodations, dining, shopping, and services. The center features comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, bicycle racks, indoor and outdoor restrooms, and picnic tables. “We’re thrilled to open LivCo Basecamp as a hub for exploring Livingston County,” said Tourism Director Kelly Burns. “This space will welcome and inspire both visitors and lifelong residents to discover the hidden gems of our community.”
Located in downtown Mount Morris, Basecamp is within walking distance of local shops and restaurants and is near Interstate 390 and the Mount Morris entrance to Letchworth State Park. The Genesee Valley Greenway State Park runs behind the building, making it an ideal spot for hikers and bikers. The 2,000-square-foot building will also house Sweet Arts Bakery, known for its quality baked goods and popular cinnamon rolls.
