The Clyde-Galen Fire District successfully completed its annual Hazmat training on May 9th, meeting New York State’s mandatory requirements for all active fire personnel. The training, essential for ensuring the safety and preparedness of the district’s firefighters, was led by instructor Harry Aunskt, who was commended for his expertise and dedication.

Following the training, members of the fire district’s Station #3 attended a ceremony at Rivers Crossing Campground in Tyre, where they were honored for their service. The campground owners, recognized for their philanthropic efforts, had raised $10,000 last year for first responders, with $1,300 of that total being donated directly to the Galen-Clyde Fire District.

The event not only celebrated the generous contributions from the community but also set an ambitious goal for the coming year, aiming to double the previous amount to $20,000. The Clyde-Galen Fire District expressed deep gratitude to the campground owners for their continued support and significant impact on local first responders.
