Village of Clyde names new police department leader

Mayor Jerry Fremouw announced significant changes in Clyde Village’s leadership, with a new officer in charge of the police department taking over following the retirement of the long-serving Chief Connor.

Aaron DiSanto, a local graduate of Clyde-Savannah High School and Cayuga Community College, where he earned a degree in Police Science, has been appointed as the new OIC. Disanto, who began his law enforcement career in Clyde before joining the Wayne County Sheriff in 1994, brings extensive experience, including roles in road patrol supervision.

DiSanto, who recently served as a temporary officer for Clyde Village, is stepping into his new role with enthusiasm. “He started his career here and is glad to finish it here,” he said, underscoring his deep connection to the community. Mayor Fremouw welcomed Aaron to his new position, highlighting his ongoing commitment to local policing.
