On May 2 the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office successfully completed a comprehensive search of the Seneca County Correctional Facility, aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the institution. The operation was carried out by the facility’s Correction Officers, assisted by K-9 units from both Seneca and Schuyler Counties.
The thorough inspection of the facility yielded no findings of illegal contraband either within the premises or in the possession of any incarcerated individuals. This result underscores the effectiveness of current security measures and protocols in place at the correctional facility.
Sheriff Thompson praised the Correction Officers for their vigilance and commitment to maintaining a contraband-free environment. He affirmed that such searches would become a regular practice to uphold the safety of staff and inmates, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal contraband within the facility.
