The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office announced that the Appellate Division has upheld five felony convictions from various criminal cases. These cases involved serious offenses ranging from riots in correctional facilities to armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

In one notable case, Philip Bradley was sentenced to additional prison time for his participation in a 2019 riot at Auburn Correctional Facility, where several correction officers were injured. Bradley received 2-4 years in prison and a $2,000 fine. Similarly, Julian Byer was sentenced to 10 years for robbing an Auburn man at gunpoint in 2021. Vincent DeAngelis and Karl Diggs also faced lengthy sentences for their violent crimes, including burglary and armed robbery.

Derrick Sedore’s conviction for burglary, kidnapping, and robbery was particularly severe, resulting in a 20-year to life sentence after a 2018 home invasion that left a senior citizen injured. These upheld convictions highlight Cayuga County’s continued efforts to address serious crimes within its jurisdiction.
