Ontario County Clerk’s Office changing hours: Here’s when they will be open

The Ontario County Clerk’s office will have new operating hours starting April 29, as announced by County Clerk Jean Chrisman. The office hours will now be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This change is intended to streamline office procedures and reduce overtime expenses.

Chrisman explained that the adjustment will help staff manage their workload more effectively during regular hours. However, for urgent filings that need to be handled between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m., the clerk’s office is prepared to accommodate unique situations upon request. Residents needing special considerations are encouraged to contact the office directly at 585-396-4200.

For those unable to visit during the new hours, a drop box is available at the entrance to the county Department of Motor Vehicles office. Documents left in the drop box after 4:30 p.m. will be processed the following business day. For further inquiries, residents can reach out to Jean Chrisman at her office email or by phone.
