No wake order issued for Honeoye Lake due to high water levels

  • / Updated:
  • Staff Report

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has announced a no wake order for Honeoye Lake, effective immediately. Boaters are advised to keep their speed under 5 mph. This measure is in response to significantly higher than normal water levels in the lake.

The decision to implement the speed restriction was made on Tuesday. The no wake order will remain in effect until further notice to ensure safety and prevent potential damage from boat wakes.

Officials are monitoring the situation and will provide updates on when the order will be lifted as conditions change. Boaters are encouraged to stay informed and comply with the temporary speed limit to help maintain a safe environment for everyone.
