The Seneca Community Players are gearing up to present “Radio Gals,” a musical comedy by Mike Craver and Mark Hardwick. The story centers on Hazel Hunt from Cedar Ridge, Arkansas, who starts her own radio station, “WGAL,” after retiring as a music teacher. With her “all-girl” orchestra, the Hazelnuts, and lovesick flapper Gladys Fritts, Hazel broadcasts a mix of town diary, calendar, and personal musings, which unexpectedly reach listeners far beyond their small town.
The production, directed by Eric Jansen, features a TANYS award-winning team and showcases talents such as newcomer Darlene Cieri as Hazel Hunt and SCP veteran Maria Coleman as Gladys Fritts.
Performances of “Radio Gals” are scheduled from April 12-14 and 19-21 at Lafayette Theater in Seneca Falls, with tickets priced at $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors in advance, and an additional $2 at the door. The cast includes a mix of SCP veterans and newcomers, promising a delightful experience for audiences. For tickets and more information, visit the Seneca Community Players’ website.
