Mets place starting pitcher Tylor Megill on injured list

It has been a tough start to the season for the New York Mets as they remain winless through three games, and in addition to that, they lost one of their starting pitchers due to an injury.

The club announced Monday that they have placed Tylor Megill on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder strain that he suffered in Saturday’s 7-6 loss.

Megill exited after four innings and was sent for an MRI, but the team is still waiting for the results to see how much time he will miss.

Reliever Reed Garrett was called up from Triple-A Syracuse as the temporary roster replacement.

Megill is the second Mets starting pitcher to land on the injured list, joining ace Kodai Senga.
