Over the weekend, a serious crash was reported in the town of Torrey involving a passenger vehicle and tractor-trailer.
The drivers were identified as Scott Reinard of Penn Yan, and Mark Bertollini of Auburn, according to a news release.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office reported that it happened at the intersection of State Route 14 and Swarthout Road at approximately 10:53 a.m.
According to the investigation, Reinard attempted an unsafe pass on the right of a tractor trailer making a right turn, resulting in his vehicle becoming trapped under the trailer.
Reinard sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Bertollini, however, did not suffer any injuries from the accident.
Traffic citations related to the crash are currently under consideration as the investigation continues.
