Jeffrey Dibble has been convicted following a dangerous police chase in 2021 that involved a stolen truck and resulted in a near-fatal crash in Ontario County. Dibble, with four previous felony convictions, was found guilty of several charges, including assault, grand larceny, and fleeing an officer.
The incident took place on September 15, 2021, when Dibble stole a truck from a Livingston County farm. The chase ended disastrously when he collided with two other vehicles, severely injuring one of the drivers, who fortunately survived.
The chase prompted lockdowns at Canandaigua primary and elementary schools. Dibble, now facing the possibility of being deemed a persistent felony offender, could receive a life sentence of up to 25 years.
