Bloomfield drama club brings “The SpongeBob Musical” to life

The Bloomfield Drama Club staged a vibrant performance of “The SpongeBob Musical” at the Bloomfield Performing Arts Center, captivating audiences with shows at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 15, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 16. The musical, which dives into the adventures of SpongeBob and his friends as they endeavor to save their underwater world from a looming volcanic eruption, showcased the talents of 79 middle and high school students in roles both on stage and behind the scenes.

Senior Kevin Decker shone in the title role of SpongeBob, with senior Riley Rzepka as Sandy Cheeks, junior Katie Evans as Patrick Sea Star, and freshman Avery Newstead as Squidward, bringing Bikini Bottom’s beloved characters to life. Directed by Sarah Williams, with music direction by Laura Mohr and costumes by Judy Holton, the production was a testament to the creativity and dedication of Bloomfield’s young performers.

Tickets for the musical were available for purchase online, offering a memorable experience for families, seniors, and students alike.
