Trooper Grassia, who joined the New York State Police in April 2022 and was assigned to Troop G, was remembered by the New York State Troopers PBA as dedicated to serving and protecting both the citizens of New York State and the United States. The helicopter was flying over the border when it crashed, leading to this devastating loss.

Funeral arrangements for Trooper Grassia are currently pending, as the community and his colleagues mourn the loss of a committed public servant.
