Rushville is gearing up for its mayoral election on March 19, marking the beginning of a new era as current Mayor David Le Clair steps down.

Candidates Art Rilands and Doug Rigby are in the race for the mayor’s seat, promising fresh governance for the next four years. The election will be held at the Village Hall from noon to 9 p.m., which is typical for village elections across the region.

In addition to the mayoral race, the village is also preparing for a competitive election for two trustee positions, with incumbents Karen Gorton and Chandra Gilman facing off against Patricia Sawers for four-year terms.

Surrounding villages including Manchester, and Shortsville are also seeing their own electoral contests. Manchester and Shortsville feature mayoral races with incumbents facing challengers. In Manchester, Mayor Michael Buttaccio is being challenged by Jeffrey Liberati, while Mayor Fred Mink in Shortsville is challenged by Ernest Corino Jr.
