SF Police: Rochester man threatened to punch, choke officers while being arrested for bail jumping, failing to appear in court multiple times

The Seneca Falls Police Department reports the arrest of a Rochester man after he failed to appear in court on three separate bench warrants stemming from arrests in August, September, and October of 2021, then made serious threats towards officers during an incident this week.

On January 17 around 11:17 p.m. Wanya King, 22, of Rochester was arrested on three additional charges, including bail jumping, obstruction, and harassment.

Police say King has persistently missed court stemming from a felony arrest, which subsequently caused him to be charged with an additional felony.

During the most-recent arrest, King obstructed officers from doing their jobs and disobeyed verbal commands.

He also threatened to punch and choke officers during the incident. Finally, King was taken into custody and transported to the Seneca County Jail.
