A tragic incident occurred on Route 5 in Avon on Tuesday, resulting in the death of a pedestrian who was struck by multiple vehicles.
The victim, 31-year-old Stephen Letourneau, had recently moved to Avon from Canada.
Livingston County sheriff’s deputies, who arrived at the scene around 5:25 p.m., found Letourneau deceased upon their arrival.
According to the sheriff’s office, Letourneau was initially hit by an eastbound vehicle and then subsequently struck by more vehicles traveling west.
All involved drivers stayed at the scene and are currently cooperating with the ongoing investigation into the crash.
The Avon Police Department, the East Avon Fire Department, Lima Fire Department, and Livingston County emergency services also responded to the incident.
