In a tragic case emerging from Livingston County, Zachary McCaa, 26, is set to be sentenced on Tuesday for the murder of his 2-month-old son.
McCaa’s sentencing will take place in a Livingston County courtroom, marking the culmination of a case that has shocked the local community.
The incident, which occurred in June 2022 at McCaa’s residence on Iroquois Road in Caledonia, involved him violently throwing and shaking the infant. The baby was urgently transported to Strong Memorial Hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries a week later, leading to the subsequent legal proceedings against McCaa.
In September, following a thorough jury trial, McCaa was found guilty on multiple counts, including murder, manslaughter, and acting in a manner injurious to a child.
