Galen woman arrested twice for vehicle theft, drug-related charges

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a 54-year-old Galen woman, Charlotte A. Furman, on charges of criminal trespass and criminal possession of stolen property.

The arrest occurred on Sunday, November 19, at 12:33 a.m. Furman is accused of stealing a vehicle, valued at approximately $5,000, from a residence in Galen.


The incident unfolded when Furman was discovered in possession of the stolen vehicle on Saturday, November 18.

She was found in a parking lot of the McDonald’s restaurant in the Town of Lyons. In addition to the charges related to vehicle theft, Furman faced further legal troubles when state police, operating out of Lyons, charged her with DWI/DWAI-drugs following an evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

Following her arrest, Furman underwent further processing at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. The charges will be answered at a later date.
