Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office undergoes staffing changes

The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office is undergoing significant changes with the recent resignations of three assistant district attorneys and the upcoming addition of four new prosecutors.

Former assistant district attorneys Jonathan Ward, Britton Bouchard, and Richard Pado resigned in late October.

Pado and Bouchard, who resigned on October 31, plan to open their own law firm, Mendillo, Bouchard & Pado PLLC, in Auburn, along with attorney Kevin Mendillo.

The firm, set to open next month, will also share office space with Ward. Pado expressed gratitude for their time at the DA’s office and a shared long-term goal with Bouchard to become small business owners since their law school days, according to reporting this week by The Citizen.

To fill the vacancies, the Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office is set to welcome four new assistant district attorneys. Courtney Venditte, Amanda Raub, and Mark Moody, all from the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, have accepted job offers, while the fourth hire will be announced later.
