The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Kellie M. Kelley, 38, of Corning, in relation to an identity theft incident that transpired in July 2023 in Horseheads.
Authorities say Kelley unlawfully utilized another individual’s credit card to conduct unauthorized transactions at Kohls. The act was corroborated through surveillance footage and transaction records.
Following a thorough investigation, a Superior Court Warrant was issued leading to Kelley’s apprehension on Oct. 14. She faces charges of Identity Theft in the second degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree — both classified as class E felonies — as well as Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor.
After being held at the Chemung County Jail, Kelley was released on Oct. 16 and now awaits her forthcoming court appearance.
