Gorham resident celebrated as Republican of the Year in Ontario County

Annie Chwiecko of Gorham received notable acknowledgment as the Ontario Republican of the Year during the annual Constitution Day Dinner held on September 15 at Club 86.


Ms. Chwiecko holds several influential positions within the Ontario County Republican Committee, including Chair of the Town of Gorham Republican Committee and First Vice President of the Ontario County Women’s Republican Club. Her noteworthy contributions to the party and her extensive involvement in community initiatives earned her this prestigious accolade, which was presented by notable figures including State Sen. Patrick Gallivan and Trisha Turner, Chair of the Ontario County Republican Committee.

A retired Community Representative for State Sen. Patrick Gallivan, Ms. Chwiecko has been pivotal in organizing and leading major fundraising events for the committee, including the notable Tastings event which she chaired for 20 years. She is also involved in community enrichment projects such as “Making Spirits Bright,” a humanitarian initiative by the Ontario Women’s Republican Club that raises funds to provide veteran families with essential goods, presents, and gift cards during the Christmas season. Additionally, Ms. Chwiecko has played a substantial role in organizing dinners to generate funds for Honor Flight Rochester, facilitating veterans’ visits to Washington, D.C.

In addition to honoring Ms. Chwiecko, several other local Republicans received recognition for their contributions to the committee during the dinner, reflecting the diverse and collaborative efforts of party members from various towns and cities within Ontario County. These acknowledgments underscore the collective commitment of the committee’s members to uphold and advance the values and initiatives of the Republican party within the region.
