The search for the next superintendent of the Weedsport Central School District has been narrowed down to two candidates, Luke Carnicelli and Gregory Stone, by the local board of education.

Current superintendent, Shaun O’Connor, who has served since 2005, is expected to retire on January 1, 2024. Carnicelli and Stone have successfully advanced through two rigorous rounds of interviews from a notably competitive pool of candidates.

A decisive round of evaluations involving school and office visits, stakeholder discussions, and a conclusive board meeting is scheduled for September 27 and 28.
