South Bristol man, former RPD officer charged with rape

On Tuesday New York State Police arrested 39-year-old Shawn Jordan of South Bristol, NY, charging him with first-degree rape, a Class B Felony.

The charges arose after an investigation indicated Jordan allegedly committed the offense by forcible compulsion against a 13-year-old female.

Jordan is a former Rochester Police officer who earlier this year was accused of exposing himself to a minor and acting in a lewd manner in a video chat.

The incident is believed to have taken place between April and June of 2022 in the town of South Bristol, Ontario County. After being processed at SP Canandaigua, Jordan was transferred to the Ontario County Jail for CAP arraignment.

Authorities have stated the investigation is ongoing and urge anyone with information related to Jordan to contact the New York State Police at 585-398-4100.

Additionally, for matters concerning child abuse, the public is advised to reach out to the Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes at 585-394-2573 or the Bivona Child Advocacy Center at 585-935-7800.
