ACH names Joshua Alexander as chief operating officer

Auburn Community Hospital announced the appointment of Joshua Alexander as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective September 12.

Prior to this role, Alexander distinguished himself as the Manager of Business Administration for the Nursing Department at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

There, he oversaw business operations for 32 inpatient nursing units, an operating budget of $25 million, and a salary budget exceeding $300 million. His career also includes a tenure as Physician Practice Manager at the Rochester Regional Health System. An alumnus of Loyola University, Maryland, and the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, Alexander is poised to bring his vast experience to ACH.

In his role as COO, Alexander will spearhead efforts to enhance the hospital’s efficiency, fiscal operations, and organizational structure, all while reporting directly to the ACH President. He will be tasked with ensuring the hospital’s goals align with broader enterprise objectives, all while catering to the unique needs of Auburn’s local community and patients. His duties will further encompass improving productivity, consumer access, patient retention, and maintaining the highest standards of service and quality.

Scott Berlucchi, President & CEO of Auburn Community Hospital, expressed his enthusiasm about Alexander’s appointment. “We are thrilled to have someone with Josh’s business caliber and experience as our new Chief Operating Officer,” he said.

Serving as Cayuga County’s largest employer, ACH boasts over 1,200 employees, a medical staff of 200 professionals, and a comprehensive Health Care Delivery System.
