German Brothers Marina, located on the western shore of Canandaigua Lake, is set to undergo significant expansion if owner Peter Bruu’s plans are approved.
At an August 21 town board meeting, Bruu presented his proposal to enlarge the West Lake Road marina, construct a restaurant, and develop vacation rental units.

Advocating for the property to be classified as an incentive zone, the Finger Lakes Times reported that Bruu emphasized the increasing demand for extended services in this destination area. He noted, “There’s a waiting list for boaters wanting to rent slips at our marina, and a growing need for lakefront lodging, food, and beverage services.”
Bruu’s plans include boosting the number of boat slips from 33 to potentially 150, establishing a lakeside restaurant, and introducing eight housing units for vacation rentals.
A public hearing is set for September 18.
