While New York City saw a modest growth of 0.2%, amounting to $777 million in collections, county and city collections outside NYC experienced a more significant 5% boost, totaling $935 million. Among the counties, Lewis County stood out with a robust 28.1% growth, whereas Orleans County faced the sharpest decline at 12.1%.

DiNapoli noted, “Local sales tax growth in July continued at a moderate pace,” suggesting officials monitor cash flow given the more modest growth after two previous years of rapid expansion. Adjustments based on reported sales by vendors will be available in October for the third quarter.
