Dollar General ‘assessing’ damage at Clyde store: No timeline for reopening at this time

When will the Dollar General store in Clyde reopen?

That question came from a reader last week, who wondered why, after an apparent electrical issue – the store remained closed.

An unnamed representative from Dollar General’s public relations team shared the following statement five days after FingerLakes1.com reached out:

“Thanks for reaching out. Dollar General’s location at 110 Wayne Avenue in Clyde, NY is currently closed following a fire. At this time, we are in the process of assessing the damage of the store, and expect to have updated plans on the store’s future at the conclusion of that assessment. Thanks for understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers.”

As of Monday, the store remained dark with signage on the front door instructing vendors to reach out with questions or comments to a local phone number.

For now, the community waits to see what’s next for the local store.
