The Canandaigua Town Board has announced a public hearing to be held on August 21 at 6 p.m., to discuss a proposed local law that would override the state property tax cap for the town’s 2024 budget.
The hearing aims to engage the community in a dialogue regarding the potential implications of the override, reflecting the town’s effort to ensure transparency and public involvement in the decision-making process.
The hearing will take place in the Onnalinda Conference Room, located on the lower level of Town Hall at 5440 Routes 5&20, and will also be accessible via Zoom for those who wish to attend virtually. Questions about the hearing or the registration process for the online option can be directed to Town Manager Doug Finch through email or by phone.
